| It's a simple question with a lot of answers: How do we make the final push to get our average attendance past 10,000? Being bored stiff and stuck at home (having just got my power back after the cut this morning) I thought I'd have a brain-storm about ways to stump up our attendances, but not just to fill it full of kids + families, make it a better atmosphere too:
'Huddersfield United' Membership Scheme - Instead of a Season Ticket, Patrons can opt to buy a Membership, which allows them to have not only a seat in any of the Kilner, FM and Riverside Stands, but also entitles it to cheaper Away travel, I was thinking about maybe a 'members area' could be created in the Riverside Upper, and they would be allowed perhaps to visit players at training. Also, they could have a REASONABLE amount of shirts, and even a special 'members shirt' that the team could play one game a year in. Even things like special members curry nights and BBQ's could be hosted by the club. Members could also get a say in matters like Designs of the Shirt etc.
Targeted games - got the idea from Wigan's Big One, decide at the start of the year, on one game that the club could be 19-20,000 on. For instance, lets say Wigan. Offer Wigan a larger amount of Tickets, say 5,000 (4,000 in South Stand, 1,000 in Kilner) with all 5,000 at a reduced price like £5. Then, offer the same deals to Home fans for the First 6,000 that buy a ticket, 11,000 already gone, then give all Season Ticket holders chance to 'bring a friend' for the price on the night. Done once in the Early Games, once towards the end.
Bring a friend - have a wider 'Bring a Friend' Scheme, where on the production of a voucher, a Friend a Season Ticket holder can have entry for £5 to any Super League game.
Any other ideas?

| Win a trophy !!
I honestly think our attendances have peaked for now , till we actually win something ......i dont think where going to see a huge jump in our crowds until.
I also think part of our problem, especially this season has been the amount of times our games have been moved for TV coverage which will automatically knock a couple of thousand off our home crowds, plus the 3 'Fax games where our crowds will be down 2-2,500 from the Galpharm.

| All good ideas from thread poster, but like the other lads have said I honestly think the way to get regular 10k+ crowds at home is to win a trophy, and I think that trophy would have to be the Challenge Cup. I still don't think we're quite good enough to take the league.
I've been saying from right back at the beginning of the year that NB's priority this year had to be to win the Challenge Cup. I honestly think that's doable. We've been in 2 recent finals, now is the time to just go that one step extra and win it.

| Targeted marketing, subtle marketing, people badgering people in the street, getting Hudds uni's marketing degree lot to help out as a joint venture between yourselves and them. Benefits the Uni, the students and the club.
Getting old of people's email/addresses/Tel No and dropping in leaflets, billboards, mini walking billboard people who are able to pass on details when approached, partnerships/training/working with all local schools primary/high school/college, all local amateur clubs even slightly out in to other teams catchment areas, charity events and gala's.
Special offers on tickets/clothing, loyalty schemes, partnerships with the local retail outlets.
Incentivise fans to increase the crowds, some reward scheme for bringing new fans and maybe getting them to sign up to Huddersfield in some way and that's linked to the reward scheme , bring new people in and get rewards, your team really deserves a full house.

Great ideas Yed, the club have pretty much done all of that, like said we really do need to win something, the number of times people in Town see the shirt and ask how we are doing this season?
This was when we were top of the league ffs!!
Can't see why we can't win either trophy, we'll make the play off's and then it's knock out rugby, we are more than capable of beating anyone on our day.

| winning a trophy would be a huge boost for the giants and i feel would add 1 or 2 thousand thats the missing link at the moment but you can always look to improve crowds like wigan do, wigan get the biggest crowds yet they push on and try to better that and like Conorgiantsfan said things like memberships, cheap tickets, bring a friend, promote 1 big game you could even do a forces and charitys day where if you are a member or a former member of the forces you can get really cheap tickets say for a fiver and have a 1 of shirt for charity and just things like that.

| Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to move games to Friday/Saturday Night, around 7:30/5:30, this way, it isn't too bad for kids, as they don't have school in the morning, and it lessens the impact of Sky moving the games around, We can't play on three different days, three different weeks. We need consistency on field and off it.

| Saturday games every week would be a disaster, a total disaster. I'm not exactly enamoured with Fridays either.

| One thing is for sure
people singing and chanting and then ridculing other fans on the terrace or on sites like these are not going to get us close to 10000
far too many people whine and moan about things that are beyond their control thinking their 220 quid a year gives them a say in how the club should be run. If we all put the money in that Davy and other chairmen at other clubs do the we could moan. it really grates me what some fans say. If it was us in control god help us we would be sunk faster than the titanic
Such as moaning about fans leaving early. Wigan is not the best place to come away from, we had been thrashed and they wanted to get a head start rather than watch the lads finish jumoing over a cliff face like lemmings.
We as a team need to provide a strong safe enviroment with a good atmosphere to make that final push. The key whether it is sky games or not is to sell the season tickets as these are the guys who turn out SKY TV or not
