i met my personal favourite player freddie fittler in the east leagues club at bondi junction, and tried in vain to persuade him to sign for widnes. and i have met many great players over the years fro the likes of reg gasnier and the living god who is alex murphy to my ex boozing pal jules o'niell to keiron cunningham.

I met Mal Meninga in a Chinese take-away in Wheldon Road. Was after Cas played a touring Aussie side (sometime in early 90s I think). Meninga hadn't played in the game but had obviously built up an appetite!
Was also sat in Burger King in Cas on my own on a table of four, when Vowles, Eager and Fritz asked if they could take the other three seats - coun't really say no!
