Complete waste of time for four of those because the four clubs do not meet all the criterion.

Where do we fall down in terms of criteria? Obviously missing CC and further in the NR cup hasnt helped our income part of the deal, but in some ways that can I'm sure, be taken into account. While I doubt we will be considered serious contenders, I would be interested to know the stats, where we fell down, as we clearly need to address the issues for next time. Woinder how our lack of financials, with Matt taking a pay cut will affect our recruitment. Only signing I am aware of at the minute is Danny Jones, I am glad he's onboard but its hardly setting my pants on fire tbh. Esp if we lose Branno plus Holroyd, and Gene obviously... we need options, I just hope we can afford them for next term!

So "Toulouse have also been given the nod to apply due to being French." was not included. I am shocked.

What is sickening about this franchise nonsense is the new criteria which have only recently been announced. They were obviously intended so as to give the "nod" to one club in particular. You don't need a crystal ball to work it out do you ?

after july or before if they vote to have an extra club at another meeting, a new set of rules will come out, being way beyond any of the championship clubs. thereby safeguarding all the clubs in SL.
IF a club is relegated it will have to do away with youth set up no matter how good and comply with salary cap set.
cant see it myself.

Whilst i have a desire for Halifax RLFC to play at the highest level, the time has to be right for Halifax RLFC to enter into Super league.

We need to be confident that we could financailly survive and not finish the club off.
i do believe that we should apply to test drive the process and see exactly were we fall down, i then belive we should continue to be the strongest side in the NL1 compertition and further build our club into a stonger position and for Halfiax RLFC to be the front runner in the future.

Not all will agree with my position, and i dont have sight of the books and finances, however the noises coming from the club seem to back up we are not awash with money or backers/sponswers.

on a differant tack, its going to be mighty intersting to see who does not retain theor current lofty position in SL as they will be our main compertion bothin the league and for the next round of applications!

TBF Halifax Chairman had mentioned 2,500 figure months before became common knowledge, maybe other clubs decided not to mention this as it may have a detremental effect? E.g. 'We only get 1,900 anyway so can't apply for SL so why should we bother?'

If they were only brought in a few months back wouldn't all clubs of moaned and whinged about it? (excluding your lot as you'll moan about the coldness of ice cream!).
