Yep, say for example that Wigan were to pay Hock to be an anti-doping champion for the RFL and work as part of a taskforce specifically campaining against drugs in the sport. Should this be authorised by the RFL as they see it as a good thing and it costs them nothing as Wigan are paying then provided that authorisation is gained from the RFL then no problems. I don't quite get why people can't understand the rule that provided the RFL say OK then it can happen.

That being said, I don't think Hock to be given the free ride or invited back to the club after the ban.

Why on earth would the RFL want Hock in this role?

It means education for Hock or rehabilitation for Hock not Hock doing the educating or rehabilitating of others.

His qualification for either job are what exactly? "Look at me I have been found out, don't do it." is about as far as it goes.



I don't quite get why anyone would interpret the rules that way. The club can oay for Hock to go to a clinic or whatever. It cannot employ him to do a job.

To be fair to Hock and Wigan I don't think at the moment he has the necessary skills to be able to present properly and coherently. It would take IMO at least 12 months intensive training for him to be able to do this.
Public speaking isn't as easy as some people make it look. Would Wigan pay for this training?

And as Dave says he cannot be employed by the club in any form once his ban has been confirmed.

I honestly dont know why anyone would want to employ Hock in any kind of speaking role, as im assuming thats what a rehab programme would involve.

Surley you must have heard his man of the match speaches! He is in no way qualified just to rock up somewhere and talk about this subject, it is infact insulting to the hard working people who do this job in the first place, to think that some idiot without an appropriate qualification or skill set (other than being a user) can just start convincing like minded people to give up the bolivian marching powder!

If we as a club offer him something like this then we will have fallen further than i would have liked to admit. Now i have no problem with the club employing him (if they can), but please let it be something like making the tea and sweeping up, so he can appreciate what he has lost.

Also why should he just be able to walk back into the team in two years. Who knows how mossop, tomkins, hanson etc will be doing then, he may after 2 years not be able to lace their boots.

If we do have him back, which i think we will, he should have to work twice as hard, on half as much to make the team, as he has had his chance and blown it!

Just letting him walk back is wrong on so many levels.
