Im going with 4 others, Id watch any RL so 7 SL games in a beautiful city is fine by me. Not sure why everyone whinges so much about it. Can recommend the Roseburn pub near the ground. Good atmos last year.
Not for me this year. Did both Cardiffs and enjoyed them, although the first more than the second where we gave the game to Catalans gift-wrapped in a box with a big sodding bow tied round it!
Agree with previous poster who thought it was a better idea to have local derbies for the weekend (doesn't really apply to us I know), was sat with a bunch of HKR fans for the first SL Hull derby, great atmos. Nothing against Edinburgh but at least in Cardiff it seemed to make sense as an occasion because of the plan to expand SL and get (Celtic) Crusaders in.
Somewhere different next year? Wembley (although least said about the pitch the better), the Emirates/ Arsenal or the new stadium that will replace Lansdowne Road in Dublin? What about moving the weekend to the Bank Holiday at the end of May (ie in half term ) or having it as a curtain raiser to the season?
I absolutely love and am gutted that i cant go - going to a wedding - but agree that it could do with a bit more to attract others.
Id have it as the kick-off to the season ( i think the season should be reduced and start later but failing that have it in Wales under a closed roof).
