Giants certainly got the best of the Patrick swap deal.

Defensively he's been brilliant. In his first game he made a wonderful break- but unfortunately we didn't see him running those lines too much this season. We certainly did get the best deal from the swap- and I wonder exactly where that leaves larne -since he insisted on going- he may have burnt some bridges. We will miss Hughes' defence- and he's been a very consistent player for us- a shame he's moving on but it would be nice to have a second row who can offload or run a nice line in his place.

Been rumours about this for a while...

would have liked to see him stay, been very good for us, gets through alot of work and played alot of games.

if only he passed the ball out wide when he made a break and we could have been looking at 16-0 up... but once again we didnt take the chance..like at saints

I was actually disappointed with him last night and so were others around me...couldn't quite put my finger on it but he just didn't seem on the ball. Maybe it was cos he was playing against his mates ?

I agree, Giant Daz, I thought Hughes looked subdued last night. I didn't think he played badly but he did seem to have a quiet game. I can't say I'm disappointed we've not signed him - he's had a solid season, done a good job for us and I wish him luck at Warrington but I think we already have players as good as him and what we need to sign are players who improve the squad.

As i said on the other thread 38 tackles and 100 plus metres is not a quiet game. When Hughes made the break he was not in a position to pass as i though both Cudjoe and Mcgillivary were slow to back up in much the same way they seemed slow to chase back when Farrell scored although i am not saying they would have caught him they could have made a better effort.

Without wanting to dismiss 'stats', i think it was more a case of a visual lack of effort or so it appeared at times.

He looked to be working his socks. Scored a try that took some scoring and had a had a hand in a couple of others.

some people just see what they want to see sometimes, abit like lawrence who also goes under the radar

eveyone sees things different though

i thought taai was quiet compared to hughes lastnight but i think we was attacking that side more , hughes had a big say in our good start and also got that try in the second half

been better than ferres anyway
