If things went pear shaped at Castleford i would really find it difficult to welcome back Millward to Leigh, he has done it twice to us now, we need a commited long term coach who wont leave after two seasons, i know he has done very well at Leigh on both occasions but i feel leigh gives him the oppotunity and he waits a year or so then leaves.

Leigh's record of hiring and firing hasn't been great in the past either.

I get the feeling that Ian's stay at the club this time around has been longer than quite a few of his predessors, so i think you are being unfair.

I think Leigh are just a stepping stone for Millward to get his name back in the british game

It just comes down to beggars cant be choosers. We're lucky to have had him this year and wouldn't be where we are now with out him. That's all there is to it, being the coach of Leigh isnt a great job for a Super League calibre coach.

2 seasons is a long time at Leigh

Unfortunately, the realities at the moment are:

We can't afford a SDL standard coach!!

Basil is too good a coach to be stuck in the Ch for another 3 seasons!!

Turn down a top, proven coach who's done the business at Leigh twice???

Until we can provide Ian with the resources to at least take us to / keep us in Super League then he has every right to leave us. To have had Ian here these last 2 seasons has been a breath of fresh air and we won't get or keep a coach of that calibre again.

Enjoy the good times while we have them, they're to be savoured.

In fairness had he not left first time around I think he'd have been afforded the resources to get us there and make a good fist of things.

if we cant afford him then why have we gone for a level 3 coach full time next season which i believe is the same level as IM
