A lot to like about Wakefield.
It's a real joy supporting Trinity right now.
I bet you are. Just promoted and doing better than expected. Crowd buzzing. Players enjoying themselves. Owner looking very happy & joining in the fun.
But of course it is easy at the moment. HKR, Leeds, Leigh & Hull all doing better than expected. Saints, Wire, Cats & Huddersfield on a downer.
Test of a club though is how things go when they don't meet up with expectations. Changing rooms are easy after a win but the real test is after defeat. Need to check what the feeling was when Wakey were relegated (sorry to be a miserable fart). What are the fans like at Saints, Cats & Wire?
Go for it Wakey and enjoy.
Well, since the great splurge of money spent on the Welsh contingent in 1990, our push for youth a few years later, then our club has failed PATHETICALLY in its expectations. A Regal Trophy in 91.
Eighteen years of NOTHING, until we employed a winner in Smith (3 out of 4 CCs), then bored our way to another one, 6 years ago....that's it.
4 pots since 91 (only fans of clubs who get the LLS are bothered about it).
Some Saints fans are disgruntled, because those born in the early to mid 80's have been used to a stream of successes. Our
stream has been limited to a trickle, when we had a decent coach that was a winner.
As a club, we should re-write the Dickens classic, and call it Failed Expectations.
