I think injuries permitting our best player could well be Westwood.

It could easily be waterhouse though if he shows his NRL form, but its his first season and he could well take some time to settle in.

I also think we will see a big year from Paul Wood... he has been getting better every year for the last few seasons.... im expecting some big performances from woody next season.....a prop in his prime.

On the flip side i can see this being a year too far for Morley...

Quite a few people have said the same thing for last 2 or 3 years and he's proved them wrong each time, some people (*cough* quite a few Wigan fans) said he was over the hill when we signed him.

He aint done bad for someone that was supposed to be over the hill.



Best senior player: I'll go for Michael Monaghan

Best young player: I'll go for Gareth O'Brien if he gets enough chances.

Briers and Westwood, the same as it has been for the past 8-9 years.

Simon Grix to carry on where he left last year.

Morley can keep goin until he's 40 as far as I'm concerned. The influence he had when coming back from injury for the Wigan home match last year was just awesome.

But I think Monas will have another big year next year and hoping Rhys Evans can stay injury free to fill the void left by King.

Tough to say who's the "best" player, if I had to pick one it would probably be Briers. I think the player with the most impact on the team will be Monas and most improved from last year will be Myler who has a point to prove even though he had a solid season in 2011. Most underrated this year, I'm going to say Chris Hill or Simon Grix again.

Monaghan was our most important player in 2011 by some distance and unless he gets a bad injury he will be in 2012.

Rhys Evans will help fill the massive void left by Matt king. Still seems weird to think he won't be here next season. How could you Matt?

If Evans is to fill the void left by King as most of u say I take it that Riley won't be getting a game then ?
I personally believe Riley is too small to play on the wing and would play Evans but I just wondered if people on here would give Riley a game in a fully fit squad or is he just a floating reserve who will only get first grade rugby if there's an injury at fullback or winger ?

It's a good question Padders and one I'm sure the lord Tony Smith is happy to ponder on week on week. Riley played well today and looked very composed. Granted it was only a friendly but he still played well. We seem to have strength in depth within the squad and versatility to cover positions. I'm glad I'm not making the decision.

Evans won't make it. Too one-dimensional, etc.
