| He deserves to join this elite club 6thanks to his sterling performances throughout the season for Leeds Rhinos and his performances for England this year. Not many captains world over can lead a club to a third in a row grand final win. He was no doubt the guiding light yesterday and is in the form of his life.
If the form of Sinfield's life see’s us a win over the Australians then the panel have no choice but to hand the award over to this great player.

| Personally I'd have to say it should be given to Inglis, he's the best player in the world in my opinion.

| If England win, and Sinfield has a wow of a game on Saturday at Hooker, Sinfield will be in with a shot, by far Englands best performer and should be Englands man of the series IMO. not far followed by Gareth Ellis.

He should be involved in this, but I doubt he will be.

and what do you think of this?
Sinfield has won three titles in three years for Rhinos, has been a leader for both England and Leeds, by far the best England player in four nations so far.
I dont see a saints captain thats ever been capable of winning three titles in a row for one club, and led a country how he has for England, do you?

| Wouldn't a golden boot award go the the person that scored most points over the tournament ?

Oh for feck's sake.
Saints won the team version of the BBC's sports personality in 2006. We really don't need to have an individual award, but thanks anyway. It was good of you to share your feelings on that.
I think you'll find that because RL is a team sport, Sinfield would have to be doing stuff over and above what he does for Leeds on the pitch to win sports personality of the year. Is he even known nationally? I think I'd rather nominate young Mr Prescott.

he is a great player no doubting that but your going way over the top and pretty much saying he did it single handily. The TEAM won 3 titles in 3 years not an individual player.

David Beckham didn't win anything on his own in 2001. Jonny Wilkinson didn't win anything on his own in 2003. Andrew Flintoff didn't win anything on his own in 2005. It didn't stop them.
You're argument is flawed, but there are many more arguments why Sinfield won't/shouldn't be the Sports Personality of the Year.

...however if it were kickyball they'd have had him knighted by now! Shame We don't get the exposure as Sinfield is the full package as a player and person can see Hall having similar impact.
