| Bit swaying from rugby, but have just moved back into the Halifax area and was gutted last Sunday to see that the Pump Room was boarded up. Anyone any idea what happened to John and Anne?

| I did hear that they were made to leave in a hurry a few days before planned. Not sure on the reasons behind this.
Terrible shame, not only for them but the Halifax pub scene as a whole. In a day when many pubs are closing. One that was doing well is closed to make way for development. Given how long it took to build the broad street plaza (sure they talked about it for 20 years) I wouldn't expect anything to happen there too soon. How's the new library coming on anyway?
